Breathwork programs to improve emotional, mental and physical health in adults & children.

Respair, the breathing space, a private studio where you will learn to breathe for improved self-care.

Our breath is a powerful tool we carry with us always. The way you breathe can alter many things including your heart rate, blood pressure, and blood pH. It can also impact sleep quality, mood, and your appearance.

Can you remember ever being taught breathing techniques as a child? Breathwork used to be a part of parental teachings which , over time, has been lost. Breathing is an involuntary act, but by understanding and learning how the breath works, science has proven that proper breathing techniques can improve a person’s physical and mental health.

Are you an over-breather?

  • Do you sometimes breathe through your mouth as you go about your daily activities?

  • Do you breathe through your mouth when you sleep? If you wake with a dry mouth, then you probably do.

  • Can you hear or see your breath?

  • Do you hold your breath while sleeping?

  • Do you suffer from nasal congestion, dizziness, airway constriction, fatigue or lightheadedness?

  • Do you sigh frequently throughout the day?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are probably an over-breather. Breathwork can help you.

Did you know that most of us experience dysfunctional breathing?

We live in a society where we overeat, drink (alcohol) too much, and breathe too much—breathing too much or over-breathing results in sleep disturbances, exhaustion, anxiety, depression, digestion problems, obesity, lethargy, fatigue, racing mind, back pain, and so on.

Learning to breathe functionally can positively impact your physical and mental health. Breathing functionally has the power to calm the mind, reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, regulate the pain response, control appetite, change the structure of our children’s faces, improve sleep quality, regulate heart rate and blood pressure, and improve core stability and movement.

The inspiring thing is that learning to breathe functionally is usually a matter of a few tweaks and some knowledge. It is a skill that anybody can learn at any age, any level of fitness, and anytime.

The best part is once you know the principles, you can weave these breathing exercises into your daily lives and start to see and feel the changes to your well-being.

As a Buteyko and Oxygen Advantage certified breathing instructor, Kym can teach you how to breathe functionally. Kym offers a collection of breathing practices that can teach you how to control the rate, frequency and depth of your breath. She also teaches exercises to breathe lighter, hold your breath and breathe through your nose only and always.
